Yes... our family acronym is JAK.  Those in my family (Aldona's family) will appreciate that more.  ;)

The first day of our big Australian Adventure...  Thursday, August 2nd was a day spent wondering if we'll make any of our connections, which we didn't.  Late leaving Halifax, we missed our connection in Montreal to L.A.  Then our rescheduled later Montreal flight to L.A. was ALSO late due to what seemed like one continuous zone of turbulence across the North American continent.  So we arrived in L.A. at 11:25 PM and were supposed to catch a flight to Brisbane at 11:35 PM.  Uh... given the size of LAX, that's a big fat NEGATIVE on that one.  Below is Katie enjoying some animal cards right before our arrival at LAX, at 3:30 AM Halifax time.  Our child is a trooper.  OK, so Jake and I both sat on one butt cheek for half the flight so she could sprawl between us on the extra seat they were so kind to give us on this 6 hour flight.  :)

Anyway, Air Canada put us up in a hotel and we're enjoying a bit of a break before the big flight to Brisbane tonight (rescheduled). Not much time or energy to sight see in L.A. today (Friday).  We're going to take a family nap this afternoon, I think.  :)  We're on VACATION!!!  And, double bonus, the hotel room is surprisingly child proof, so Katie has been spending a lot of energy running around it.
